The Lindenvel Group recently had the privilege of completing the fitout for the new IFA national office in the Platinum Building at Erina NSW. The design for this project was handled by Masterplanners Interiors, with the two companies collaborating closely to deliver a functional, modern, and cost-effective workspace that meets the needs of the IFA team.

Scope of Work

The project involved a partial demolition of the existing office to make way for a fresh, contemporary workspace. The goal was to design an office that catered to the specific needs of IFA, while promoting collaboration and efficiency in the workplace.

Design Vision and Features

The design concepts were graciously provided complimentary by Masterplanners Interiors. Their senior designer, Richard Regaldo, took a thoughtful and intentional approach in creating a design that reflected IFA’s commitment to professionalism. The design team aimed to create a calming, welcoming atmosphere, using a neutral colour palette with soft beige tones and warm timber accents to add warmth and character. The goal was to create a space that was modern, timeless, and professional, yet inviting—a space staff could feel inspired in.

Despite working within a tight budget and timeline, the design incorporated carefully selected off-the-shelf workstations, pinboards, and storage solutions that didn’t compromise on style or functionality. To maximise the office’s storage potential, Masterplanners designed custom-built full-height storage cabinets in a Laminex white pre-finished board and a built-in tea prep area with a timber-look finish.

Additionally, a small office for the CEO was designed with glazed walls, balancing privacy with openness. The use of laminated glass and insulation to reduce sound transmission within the ceiling ensured that private conversations could take place without compromising the space’s overall openness and collaborative feel.

Fitout Challenges and Standout Features

Shane and Cameron Vella from The Lindenvel Group faced several logistical challenges during the fitout, particularly when it came to transporting materials to the second level of the building. Limited access via a small lift and stairwell made the process more complex, but the end result was a stunning and highly functional workspace.

One of the standout features of the fitout is the custom cabinetry, crafted using the latest Laminex range. This included a built-in kitchenette with an integrated fridge, microwave and open shelf plan, which added both style and practicality to the space. A custom-coloured furniture package from Elite Office Furniture also contributed to the modern aesthetic, completing the overall look.

For the flooring, a beige tone carpet tile from Interface’s Connected Ethos collection was chosen, bringing warmth and texture to the space while tying everything together seamlessly.

The lighting was enhanced by the use of EcoLED 20watt 4000K LED downlights, generously supplied by Aura Lighting.

A Local Effort and Successful Collaboration

The completion of the IFA national office fitout was a true team effort, with The Lindenvel Group working alongside a talented group of Central Coast-based subcontractors. Special thanks go to Matik Electrical, Precision Interior Linings, Summit Joinery, Avoca Beach Glass, and Fab Floors for their exceptional work throughout the project.

Both Masterplanners Interiors and The Lindenvel Group are proud of how the design and fitout reflects IFA’s commitment to quality, professionalism, and a work environment that is both functional and inspiring. This project is a prime example of how thoughtful design, even on a tight budget, can result in a highly effective and comfortable workplace.

The need for a new office space became clear when the IFA Board recognised that our current office was no longer suitable due to its irregular shape, lack of natural light, and landlord-supplied furniture. With a new CEO on board and the goal to grow the Association, we needed a more functional and inspiring environment. We identified the right space and successfully negotiated an affordable lease. The design brief provided to Masterplanners resulted in a modern, contemporary workspace. The fitout, coordinated by The Lindenvel Group, was completed within budget and to an exceptional standard. The result is an office that enhances productivity and will help drive the Association’s continued growth. – ROSIE REEMAN, IFA BOARD CHAIR
