Ambience Wellness is a peaceful massage haven specifically crafted to calm the body, mind and soul. The atmosphere incorporates the principals of earth, fire and water, resembling a sanctuary sculptured from stone that instills a sense of connection and healing.
This sanctuary, meticulously crafted to enhance a sense of tranquility and healing, invites visitors to embark on a journey of relaxation and rejuvenation, offering an escape from the ordinary and a transformative experience.
In close collaboration with the client and her vision, Urbani Design designed a space that caters to her customers seeking solace, healing, and renewal. A departure from the bustling mall environment outside, Ambience Wellness welcomes guests with a grand bronzed archway that appears to effortlessly traverse the floor-to-ceiling frameless glass walls. The gently curved rendered walls and bulkheads extend seamlessly from the shopfront, accompanied by a wash of soft light and timber slatted screens.
Upon stepping inside, one’s senses are greeted with a symphony of calming elements – from the soothing aroma of essential oils and the gentle murmur of flowing water to the harmonious healing music. The interior envelops visitors in a warm embrace, featuring a calming colour palette of earthy tones, rich timber accents, varied textures, and carefully curated mood lighting, all meticulously selected to evoke balance and serenity.
The spatial layout planning demanded meticulous attention to detail to optimise every square metre. The central entry point beckons guests with a gracefully curved Corian reception counter, showcasing a display of brass oil diffusers for exploration. Opposite the reception area, a waiting and relaxation zone awaits, complete with a built-in seat adjacent to an ambient fireplace.
The heart of the space unfolds into a central footpace zone, flanked by two corridors that lead to the treatment rooms. Neon strip lighting discreetly embedded along the floor serves a dual purpose: softly illuminating the walls and guiding visitors with a subtle glow. The rendered vaulted corridor ceiling seamless folds into the curved walls, appearing cavernous, and harnessing a feeling of relaxation, at one with the human form. They are a stark contrast to the square white walls of the exterior mall from which you’ve come.
Each treatment room has been meticulously designed to cultivate a restorative atmosphere, featuring discreet mood lighting, premium fixtures, soft drapery, hand crafted timber shelving, elegant wall lamps, and captivating artwork. The vanity units boast warm timber finishes, complemented by earthy green tiles and organic-shaped mirrors.
At the end of one corridor, a striking podium water feature takes centre stage, illuminated by a subtle beam of light that accentuates the cascading water, creating a mesmerising display.
While the construction of this compact space presented its share of challenges, daily site visits and open communication with both tradespeople and clients were instrumental in realising this ambitious vision. Countless hours were dedicated to refining every aspect of the design, ensuring that the end result appeared effortless and cohesive.
As launch day arrived, the stress of the tight construction timeline gave way to elation as the client expressed her joy and gratitude surrounded by loved ones. Her heartfelt thanks and emotional embrace affirmed the success of our collaboration, as she proudly introduced the visionary designer who brought her dream to life. It is in moments like these that the true impact of purposeful design is realised, offering a solid foundation for a new business to flourish and prosper.
